What Jaypaper processes

Jaypaper performs Voice Activity Detection (VAD) on raw audio from your Amazon Connect Kinesis Video Streams. This means we process:

  • Speech presence (is someone talking?)
  • Silence detection (is the line quiet?)
  • Crosstalk detection (are both parties talking simultaneously?)
  • Energy levels (volume/amplitude patterns)
  • Timing patterns (talk-to-listen ratios, pause durations)

What Jaypaper stores

  • Timing data (speech/silence/crosstalk timestamps)
  • Energy levels (amplitude measurements)
  • Contact IDs and agent IDs (from Amazon Connect)
  • Call start/end times

What Jaypaper does NOT store

  • Audio recordings
  • Transcripts or speech-to-text output
  • Conversation content or meaning
  • Customer PII (names, phone numbers, account details)
  • Agent PII beyond operational identifiers

Data location and access

Your audio stays in your AWS account via Kinesis Video Streams (KVS). Jaypaper reads the stream in real-time using a cross-account IAM role that you deploy into your account.

You control access. The IAM role is scoped to read-only on your KVS and Kinesis Data Streams. You can revoke access at any time by deleting or disabling the role — Jaypaper stops processing immediately.

Account information

When you sign up for Jaypaper, we collect your email address, company name, and AWS account information (account ID, region). This information is used solely to provision and operate your Jaypaper instance.

Data retention

Your acoustic analytics data is retained while your account is active, subject to the history window of your plan (7, 30, or 90 days). If you cancel your subscription, all data is deleted within 30 days of cancellation.
