What does Jaypaper actually measure?+

Jaypaper performs Voice Activity Detection (VAD) on the raw audio signal from your Amazon Connect calls. We detect speech presence, silence, crosstalk (both parties talking simultaneously), and timing patterns. We never transcribe or record the conversation — we only measure the acoustic characteristics of the signal.

How is this different from Contact Lens?+

Contact Lens transcribes calls to understand what was said — sentiment, keywords, compliance. Jaypaper analyses the acoustic signal to understand how calls sound — silence, talk patterns, crosstalk, energy levels. Contact Lens is deep analysis for flagged calls. Jaypaper is always-on visibility across every call. They complement each other.

Do you store recordings of my calls?+

No. Audio is analysed in real-time and immediately discarded. We store only acoustic features — timing data, energy levels, speech presence indicators. The meaning of the call is never captured or stored. There are no transcripts, no recordings, and no PII in our storage.

What does onboarding look like?+

Deploy our CloudFormation template in your AWS account (~5 minutes). It creates a Kinesis Data Stream and grants Jaypaper read-only access. Then add two blocks to your contact flow: enable recording on both audio tracks, and invoke a Lambda function. No changes to agent desktops, routing, or how calls are handled.

What AWS resources are created in my account?+

Our CloudFormation template creates a Kinesis Data Stream (~$11/month for a single shard) and an IAM role that grants Jaypaper cross-account, read-only access to that stream. You own the stream and can disable it at any time — Jaypaper immediately loses access to new call data.

How do I interact with Jaypaper?+

Jaypaper is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. You connect it to Claude or any MCP-compatible AI tool. Then just ask questions: "How are my calls looking?" "Which agent has the most silence?" "What's the crosstalk rate for Sales this week?" The AI responds with charts, tables, and analysis rendered inline.

Do I need a Claude subscription?+

For the best experience, yes — Jaypaper is designed as an MCP server that integrates with Claude or other MCP-compatible AI tools. However, we're exploring additional interface options. The AI agent interface is the primary experience.

What's the free tier?+

1,000 minutes of call processing per month, permanently free. That's about 16 hours of call time — enough for a small team's daily volume. No trial expiration, no credit card required. If you go over, you pay $0.003/min for the overage.

What regions do you support?+

We're starting with us-east-1 and expanding based on demand. The Kinesis stream in your account must be in a region we support. Let us know your region when you sign up for early access and we'll prioritize accordingly.

Is there an SLA?+

Not during beta. We're committed to best-effort uptime and will be transparent about any issues. A formal SLA will come with general availability.

Can I use this with an existing Kinesis stream?+

Yes. If you already have a Kinesis Data Stream for Connect, our CloudFormation template can add Jaypaper as an additional consumer without disrupting your existing setup. No need to create a second stream.

What happens to my data if I cancel?+

Revoke the IAM role (or delete the CloudFormation stack) and Jaypaper immediately loses access to new call data. All stored acoustic features are deleted within 30 days of cancellation.
